OUTSIDE EXHIBITION – Permanent Collection at Chiostro del Bramante
Chiostro del Bramante is pleased to announce a new exhibition project, OUTSIDE EXHIBITION, highlighting the presence of a permanent collection of exceptional aesthetic and cultural value. This initiative aims to present Chiostro del Bramante to the public in a completely renewed light, emphasizing the values of understanding others and celebrating diversity.
A Permanent Collection of International Prestige
Located in the heart of Rome, near Piazza Navona, Chiostro del Bramante is one of the city’s most captivating cultural sites. Besides its Renaissance architecture designed by the renowned Donato Bramante, the Chiostro hosts a permanent collection that includes works by world-famous artists.
Among the most celebrated names are Ian Davenport, known for his abstract works characterized by vibrant use of color and dripping technique; Alfredo Jaar, who explores social and political themes through complex and conceptually powerful installations; Michelangelo Pistoletto, a key figure in Arte Povera, represented by his works that challenge traditional artistic conventions and provoke deep reflections; and the collective Fallen Fruit, formed by David Allen Burns and Austin Young, whose work is largely connected to ideas of place and generational knowledge. Within the Sala delle Sibille, there is a strong sense of sublime taste and a profound connection towards universal love, celebrated with myths and symbols of the eternal city.
A Growing and Continuously Renewing Heritage
Thanks to new acquisitions, donations, and loans, the Chiostro del Bramante’s collection is constantly growing and renewing. This expansion allows a broader view of non-European cultures and offers visitors an ever-updated and diversified artistic experience.
